The St Mary’s College Seymour student has attracted heaps of attention online for his iPhone photography.
His shots of Avenel’s Harvest Home received hundreds of reactions on social media and inspired the budding photographer to expand his portfolio.
Jasper, 14, said his interest in photography began with a love of editing pictures in Photoshop.
“The first edited photo I put online got 18 000 views on an Adobe forum. That encouraged me to do more,” he said.
“I realised I wanted to edit specific things so decided to start taking my own pictures. I love getting shots of sunrises because of the array of colours you get to work with.
“It’s a fun hobby at the moment but I hope to turn it into a business at some point in the future.”
Jasper said photography had helped him make new friends and discover new interests.
“There’s a lot of people in the Seymour area that have an interest in photography. It’s been great getting to know them and learning new things,” he said.
“I’ve been studying photography at school and I’ve enjoyed the guidance from teachers that has improved my photos.
“While I do want to get a professional camera at some point in the future, the iPhone takes great pictures and it’s portability is a huge bonus.”
