Despite the sweltering heat, the Lockington community still gathered at the Lions Park on Thursday for an evening of carolling and Christmas shopping.

The market kicked off at 6.30pm, with guests seeking shelter from the sun in the shade of trees and stall tents.
From 8.30pm, once temperatures had cooled a little, the community carols began, with the Locky Ukers taking the lead.

As the children stayed busy on the playground, parents and families trawled through the market stalls.
The stalls included Knots by Shanice, Rawleigh’s Products, Yallambee Blooms, CraftyRo, Te Amo Honey, Erin Arnott Learning, JD WoodCraft, MishyCo, Pieces by Polly, Glow Candle Co and Knots n Cotton Co.
Stallholders sold a range of produce, decor, flowers, handmade crafts and plenty of toys and trinkets.

The Lockington and District Nursing Centre was selling Christmas raffle tickets on the day to raise funds to support the facility.
Winners will have the chance to take home big prizes, including a 52-litre esky, fishing rod and tackle box and goodies made by the Lockington Sewing Club.
