Bill volunteers for several groups in Seymour and district, including the Seymour Senior Citizens Club.
He was club president for four years and is still an active committee member who takes care of any and all odd jobs.
At regular group lunches and meetings, Bill can be seen picking up members from their front doors and taking them to the club hall and back again.
He also organises morning melodies anywhere from Shepparton to Epping and beyond.
Bill also organises and drives the bus from Seymour Coaches on regular days out for club members.
The trips have proved popular, visiting multiple attractions per trip.
In a display of gratitude and appreciation, Bill’s passengers recently shouted him a 15-minute flight in a light aircraft.
Bill said the flight brought up a few nerves but he calmed down once in the air.
‘‘It was a bit scary at first but was certainly an experience you would not want to miss,’’ he said.
‘‘The qualified pilot had 30 years of experience, so I was in good hands.’’
The Seymour Senior Citizens Club is always looking for new members. Anyone interested in getting involved should contact president Helen Meyers on 57923045 or secretary Bernie Hangan on 57921972.
