Forty years ago, volunteer passion and commitment led to the creation of an organisation for the support of adults with intellectual disabilities in Seymour.
Since then, volunteers have continued to support and encourage the work of the organisation that is now known as Goulburn Options.
The volunteer roles have been many and varied as the organisation has evolved into the well-established business that it is today, delivering support to about 75 participants through the Goulburn region under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Volunteers are still vital to the success of Goulburn Options and their participation bonds the organisation closely to the local community.
Providing expertise through the board of management, supporting participants at swimming, raising public awareness through community events, staffing the Go Again OP Shop, or working to raise funds, the generosity and enthusiasm of the voluntary support is a source of inspiration to the staff, participants and families of Goulburn Options.
This week we are pleased to publicly recognise the amazing work of all our volunteers. We thank them for everything they do for Goulburn Options.
