Goods from the op shop will be listed for auction each week and items will be mailed to the successful bidders. Local customer will also have the option of a free non-contact delivery to their door.
Chief executive Dr Rosey Panelli said it was fundraising that provided money for discretionary spending for improved facilities and innovative programs.
“Last year these funds supported the building of a new commercial kitchen, but projects planned for this year are now on hold until we navigate our way through this pandemic,” she said.
“The GO-Again op shop is our main fundraising project but it was closed in March to protect the health of our volunteers and to show leadership in supporting community health guidelines that encourage social distancing.
“Fighting COVID-19 has a high priority for us because many of our participants are among those most vulnerable to infection.
“We fully support the government guidelines. However, we now need to be innovative in setting up alternative options for fundraising.”
The popular high tea and fashion parade has been cancelled but the Mother’s Day high tea raffle is going ahead online. People can purchase tickets at goinc.org.au
The raffle will be drawn live on the Goulburn Options Facebook page on May 2.
An online donations page at GiveNow.com.au is in place, with tax deductible receipts emailed to donors.
“We understand everyone in the community is facing health and economic challenges at this time,” Dr Panelli said.
“But we are hoping the people of our region can pull together to overcome the effects of the pandemic.
“We thank everyone for the good wishes and support that we have received as we have continued our essential service.”
