Men
A stableford event with a field of 31 players was contested at Nagambie on Sunday, with still conditions and the rub of the greens fairly consistent, meaning a good score would be required to take the win.
That good score came from Peter Lawrence with 43 stableford points winning the day ahead of Gary Bow carding 42.
The good scores continued with three more players shooting three better than handicap 39s, Greg Whiteman, Alan Anderson and Dean Brown.
Nearest-the-pins were all hotly contested with Jeff Mills claiming the third, Dean Brown taking out the eighth, Trevor Redfern knocking it to a couple of inches and birdying the 13th and Harold Rayner sticking the 16th.
This week’s golf will be a four-ball best-ball stableford, on office duty will be D. Love and in the bar B. Leviston.
Women
The previous week saw a par event and the monthly medal contested, where Jane Bow won A, B and C-grades, on a count back from Maureen King — both with +4.
Jane also won the monthly medal.
The nine-hole winner was also Jane on a count back from Maureen King and Carol Wallis. All had +3.
Eighteen-hole balls went to Jane and Maureen, and the nine-hole balls went to Jane and Carol on a count back from Maureen.
Today’s golf will be a stableford event.
Chicken run results from the previous week saw 22 players compete in a stableford event played on the front nine. Winner was Shawn Spicer with 21 points.
Nearest-the-pin was Adam Webster. Tomorrow’s golf will be a stroke event to be played on the back nine with nearest-the-pin on the 16th hole.

Seymour
The women played par on Wednesday and Dale Stuart (10) was the winner with a score of -3.
The extra competition was the nearest-the-pin on the 17th and that went to Pat Ferris. The ball pool included Dale Stuart and Pat Ferris with -4 on a count back.
In the men’s stableford round Ian Richardson (6) had a nice score of 40 points to win the day.
The nearest-the-pin on the fourth was Rob Oldman, the sixth was Dave Pearce and Oldman was also closest on the 12th while the 17th went to Greg Pell.
The mixed nine holes was won by Stubby Byrne (27) with 19 points and the runner-up was Ron Wilson.
Friday evening’s social nine holes was played on holes 10-18 and the game was stroke.
Mal Lundberg (14) and Greg Pell shared the honour of the best score which was net 34.
The men played a stroke round on Saturday and in A-grade there was a three-way count back to decide the winner.
Dave Enricho had a stellar back nine to win A-grade with 79 (-10=69) on a count back from Greg Pell and Sandy Cresswell with the same top score.
Pell did have the best scratch though with 75 off the stick.
The B-grade winner was Jeff Smith who had a steady 94 (-24=70).
Nearest-the-pins went to John Mundy on the fourth, Dave Pearce on the sixth, Mark Fountain on the 12th and Bill Stevens on the 17th.
The drive and pitch on the eighth was won by Bill Brock and the 15th went to Greg Pell. A score of net 74 got players into the ball pool.
It was a stableford round for the women on Saturday and Shirley Wright (15) was the winner with 33 points on a count back from Di Stammers.
The extra competition was the best nine out score and that went to Di Byrne with 18 points. The two top scorers, Shirley Wright and Di Stammers, were the only recipients in the ball pool.
This week the Friday evening social nine holes is par on holes 16-6. Saturday’s event will be a par round for both men and women.
The men’s pennant will be starting in late March and Seymour is fielding three teams.
