The fund replaced the previous Minor Capital Works Fund in the 2025-26 state budget.
Education Minister Ben Carroll announced on Tuesday, June 10, that schools could access three funding streams: up to $50,000 for small-scale projects, up to $300,000 for student inclusion projects, and up to $500,000 for larger-scale priority works.
“We know that small projects can make a big difference. Whether it's fixing a leaky roof, upgrading toilets or building an inclusive playground, these upgrades make schools better places to learn and work,” Mr Carroll said.
“This fund is about making sure every student, no matter their needs, has a safe, inclusive and welcoming school environment.
“We’re backing school communities with the funding they need to get on with the upgrades that matter most to them.”
The program, which has already supported 560 projects totalling $166.8 million in upgrades as of April, aims to improve the condition, character and inclusiveness of Victorian schools.
Eligible projects include classroom refurbishments, toilet upgrades, roof repairs, playground and oval improvements, bike shelters, covered walkways, outdoor learning spaces, fences and flagpoles.
Schools have until Friday, July 4, to submit their applications, with successful applicants to be notified by the end of this year.
