The event, held next to St Brendan’s Catholic Church on Knight St, involved displays of the work of various parish ministries, a free barbecue and performances by St Brendan’s Primary School students.
One of the parish groups promoting its work at the event was Laudato Si, a Catholic environmental group.
Group member Barbara Carey said protecting the world was a duty for everyone, including Christians.
“There’ll be nothing left of the world if we don't care for it,” Ms Carey said.
Other groups at the expo were the St Brendan’s Parish young adult group and St Vincent de Paul and the Faith and Light Shepparton group.
St Brendan’s Church priest Fr Jackson Saunders declared the event a success and said it showcased the important work done by the various parish groups.
“Our role is to be a sign of God’s love in the world for all and to make people feel welcome,” he said.
“Our role is in many ways to build connections to build community and that’s what this celebration is all about.”

Fr Saunders said St Brendan’s did a lot of vital work for the community, including spearheading the Shepparton Winter Night Shelter, assisting those in need through St Vincent de Paul and helping provide education via the various Catholic schools in the area.
As for anyone curious about the church or its activities, Fr Saunders said they shouldn’t hesitate to visit.
“Fr Joe Taylor and myself and the local parish staff and parishioners are always ready to welcome new people to this community,” he said.
