The perfect season
Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content
Kyabram can claim to be the ultimate grandmasters of Goulburn Valley footy after Sunday’s historic13-point win over Rochester.
The result meant a perfect 21-0 season streak for the Bombers, making them the first side in GVFL history to play a perfect season.
In a truncated version, cut short by World War II, the 1939 Nagambie Lakers had gone 14-0, but no-one will ever know if that record would have continued.
It is a performance lost in the mists of time and in no way detracts from the stunning season just put together by the Bombers.

Giragarre excitement grows
There was more than a little bit of excitement around Girgarre when the hard working town officially launched its Gargarro botanic gardens.
Over 100 people were in attendance including Yorta Yorta people Aunty Denise Morgan Bulled and Najic from Federal Member for Murray Damian Drum, State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan, councillors and staff from the Campaspe Shire Council, Bendigo Bank Board members, Swinburne University of Technology horticultural staff and students and numerous supporters of the garden.
Recent rains also meant the grounds of the garden were in perfect condition to accept the first plantings along the eastern perimeter.
A former council employee who used to maintain the parks, gardens and facilities in the Girgarre community, John Warde, was invited to plant the first tree at Gargarro.

At last, it’s ours
After 21 heart-breaking years and frustrating years the wait has finally ended.
On Sunday, at Deakin Reserve, Shepparton, home town coach peter White’s super-charged Bombers bulldozed their way to their first GVL premiership for over two decades with a team performance arguably unparalleled in the club’s long and proud history.
The Bombers had to play for three quarters of the premiership battle against Tatura with 17 men and without their full forward.
But this was a flag that wasn’t going to escape the Bombers, no matter what odds had to be overcome.

Heart of the hospital finally calls it a day
The heart of the hospital is how patients, staff and members of the Kyabram board refer to midwife Judy Clarke.
After 22 years of tireless hard work, Judy has decided it’s time to be a wife, mother and grandmother ― “but not necessarily in that order.”
Judy’s illustrious career started back in 1952 at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
With great love of mums and bubs, Judy undertook midwifery training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
