Organised by Koorie Academy and Omnia Community Health, the clinic is for school-aged children, with younger children also welcome.
Attendees will receive a free basketball and jersey, and lunch and snacks will be provided.
Koorie Academy uses basketball and cultural activities to engage and empower young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Its programs create opportunities to play sport while strengthening participants’ connection to culture, identity and community.
The programs also aim to improve participants’ physical, social and emotional wellbeing, and promote respectful and healthy relationships and gender equality.
The Seymour event will include a cultural workshop, children’s colouring activities, and there will be information available about local health services and council programs for young people.
Parents and guardians must remain at the clinic if their child is under 16 years of age.
Koorie Academy basketball will be held on Monday, September 21 between 10am and 2pm at Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre.
