Euroa streetscape gets an upgrade

District craftspeople have been enlisted to develop new seating as part of Strathbogie Shire’s Streetscape Renewal Program.

Binney St in Euroa will be home to new outdoor seating made with love by local craftsmen.

Mayor Laura Binks said the upgrades to the town's streets was thanks to local businesses and she was pleased to see them taking shape.

She said she was always eager to support local businesspeople and this was an opportunity to make that happen.

District artists Tank, Steve Tobin, Hugh Salmon and Rowan Craven are working alongside each other to create the seating.

Mr Tobin, of Longwood, said he loved creating work for the community.

“We get to see people enjoy whatever we make” he said.

The seating is deigned to complement recent garden bed upgrades.

The council is now looking at expressions of interest for working groups in other areas like Violet Town and Strathbogie.
