Temperley founded the ARIA award-winning, four-times platinum band Eskimo Joe at the age of just 19, evolving from winning a band competition into a legacy-shaping musicial powerhouse as the frontman, bass player and songwriter for the beloved Aussie group.
The band’s breakout single Black Fingernails, Red Wine was released in 2006 and subsequently spent 62 weeks in the top 50, with Temperley going on to write and record seven studio albums with Eskimo Joe.
As a solo artist, Temperley is releasing a new album this September called Machines of Love and Grace.
Temperley is a seasoned performer both on stage and screen, having toured nationally and internationally in Asia, the United States and Europe, while also continuing to blaze trails in the music industry as an expert and mentor in creativity and songwriting.
While the impending release of new solo material is sparking excitement among his fans, so too is his tour.
Armed with brand new material, as well as a look into some favourite songs before they were famous, his regional shows will be a celebration of Temperley’s personal and professional experiences.
“I'm looking forward to going everywhere as it's been a good three years since we’ve been able to tour the country,” he said.
“I’m super excited. I’m really excited because making a record is so much work.
“The shows will feature songs from my last two solo albums, as well as a look at how some of the biggest Eskimo Joe songs sounded when I wrote them before they became the familiar radio hits everyone has come to know.”
When it comes to finding that magical mix between keeping Eskimo Joe fans happy and playing his new music, Temperley said his set was changeable depending on the crowd.
“You’ve just got to read the room,” he said.
“I’ve got a record coming out in September, so if people come along to Tallarook, they’ll hear those songs before anyone else.”
Machines Of Love And Grace is set for release in September.
