Empowering ideas at women in business meeting

Ms Reed-Enever supports business owners to “take their ideas to market”.

The subject of her speech and workshop was ‘Idea to Impact’, where Ms Reed-Enever took attendees through strategies to turn the ideas running through their heads into reality.

“I’m an ideas and marketing strategist. I love nothing more than ideas,” she said.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love a really good idea, but the thing about ideas is: we’ve got to evaluate which ones we’re going to work on.

“I know marketing — I’ve been in business for over 20 years. I do what I do, I love what I do.”

Ms Reed-Enever told the women, who were all fellow business owners, about the importance of paying attention to ideas while also storing them away for a future time.

“The thing is, as business owners, your brain will never turn off. We can pretend that it does, we can pretend that we have the strategies to do it, but you’ll be mid-meditation somewhere and then all of a sudden, the goal will come in,” she said.

“It’s how do we file those ideas, and how do we action them enough to do something else?

“I quite often say, it’s about getting the idea out of your head just enough to file it away to come back later.”

She added it was, too, about “trusting the gut”.

We Rise Networking Mitchell Shire group co-ordinator Sabine Vine said catching up for networking events such as this one not only developed attending business owners’ skills, it also formed valuable, supportive connections between them.

“We need that human connection, and this monthly event shows us that we are people, we are here, we can support each other, we can hold each other’s hands,” she said,

“It doesn’t have to be business, we can talk about what we’re going through.

“We Rise Networking is all about being together — we rise, we raise each other by lifting everybody up.”
