EIP connects young people with specialist youth workers who provide comprehensive assessment, goal setting, treatment planning, advocacy, and case management. Psychologists are also available to deliver therapeutic interventions.
“Together with each young person, we create a plan to support them to build healthy relationships, regulate emotions, reduce harm, and get back to doing what they enjoy,” executive manager of youth and family services Jenny Cook said.
Appointments can take place at home, in the community, via telehealth, or in-centre, with transport assistance available for psychology sessions if needed.
Since its inception, the program has achieved positive outcomes, including improved mental health, reduced substance use, stronger coping strategies, and re-engagement with school, work, and community life.
EIP is available to young people who live, work, or go to school in the Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires, excluding Wallan and Wandong.
For those in the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) stream, young people from the Greater Shepparton area can also be supported where capacity allows.
Young people can get involved by calling The Bridge Youth Service Intake Worker on (03) 5831 2390.
If EIP is not the right fit, staff will suggest alternative supports to ensure no young person is left without help.
