The group of dedicated volunteers came from around Australia, including Perth, the Gold Coast and Sale.
According to Rochester Community House and DRA, the volunteers have been in Rochester since late February and will remove flood-affected items and help with gardening and odd jobs.
So far, the group has 60 jobs to complete over the three-week visit — and is looking for more.
RCH manager Amanda Logie said she was pleased with the arrival of the volunteers.
“We (RCH) are very excited and appreciative of DRA and their volunteers coming back to our community,” she said.
“So much work is still on our community’s road to recovery.”
NAB social impact executive Jessica Forrest had this to say about the additional help that will be provided to Rochester residents.
“We know it can take a long time for communities to recover from disasters, and that’s why our partnership with DRA is so important to help communities like Rochester and others across Australia recover from disasters, now and into the future,” she said.
“We’ll have many helping hands in Rochester with over 100 volunteers from the NAB Foundation Recovery Crew on the ground to help alongside Disaster Relief Australia with important repairs.”
