Talitha Lawson has been cast as Te Fiti in the production, which will be performed across five shows at Echuca Paramount from October 23 to 25.
Talitha's mother, Candice Lawson, said her daughter's involvement in theatre began when the family started looking for opportunities close to home.
"Telitha wanted to get into theatre and Echuca was the closest (opportunity)," Mrs Lawson said.
After auditioning through the Echuca-Moama Theatre Company, Talitha quickly found her place on stage, taking part in singing, dancing and acting as part of the production process.
Mrs Lawson said the experience had become a major commitment, with cast members rehearsing several times each week in preparation for opening night.
Talitha, who is currently studying Year 10 through TAFE, has embraced the challenge of performing in front of an audience and juggling the demands of rehearsals.
"She absolutely loves it," Mrs Lawson said.
"We travel three days a week for rehearsals, so we are back and forth a bit."
Talitha is part of a cast of 43 young performers bringing Disney's beloved story to life under the direction of Molli Johns and Alisha Beavis.
Bursting with colourful costumes, energetic dance routines and well-known songs, Moana Jr follows the journey of the courageous Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific Ocean to save her island and discover her true destiny.
Tickets are available through the Echuca Paramount website, with further updates available via Echuca-Moama Theatre Company social media channels.
