The Waste to Art Competition started on March 23 and will continue until noon on June 16.
The idea is to use rubbish which might otherwise end up in our recycling bins.
Channel your creative genius and make something from soft plastic, tin cans, bottle tops, plastic bags, rusty farm machinery parts, scrap metal, or bread tags, and enter the competition.
Prize money of $200 will be awarded for first place in each category, and a People’s Choice award of $100 will be awarded at the end of the Jerilderie exhibition.
Complementing the program will be eco art workshops, funded using a NSW Government grant and run by artist Kerri Weymouth, in Coleambally.
Children’s workshops will be on April 13, 15, 20 and 22.
Adult workshops will be May 4, 11, 18, and 25.
Bookings for the workshop can be made by phoning 0407 233 240 or going to http://bit.ly/407rBSD.
Jerilderie’s exhibition will be at The Willows Homestead from July 25 to August 8.
More detail is available from Murrumbidgee Council.
