On Saturday, June 21 from 9am until 5pm, the Women in Reactional Fishing and Boating Conference 2025 will be held at the Nagambie Regatta Centre.
Women of all skill levels are welcomed to learn all things fishing and boating while connecting with like-minded enthusiasts in the community.
“You can be any level in fishing or boating,” Victorian Fisheries Authority’s Belinda Yim said.
“Whether that be a wannabe, or a beginner, intermediate or advanced, there is something there for you.”
The free conference will provide:
- Boat trailer and casting reversing clinics
- Marine licence types of fishing (freshwater/saltwater) sessions
- Fisheries management update
- Expo area featuring Australian Trout Foundation Inc, Native Fish Australia, NFA Safe Transport Victoria - Maritime, Better Boating Victoria, etc.
- And a feedback session to share your thoughts and ideas for future conferences to come
A range of activities for children and partners will be provided, ensuring a fun-filled day for everyone.
And those seeking a little extra are free to join the Arcadia Hatchery Tour and fishing at the fish-out pond on Sunday, June 22 from 10am to 1pm.
“We want to show that fishing is for everyone,” Ms Yim said.
“Fishing is fun, we create our own experiences in terms of what fishing means to us.
“We definitely want to make it clear to everyone that fishing is for women, for kids, for any age as well.”
