On Friday, August 5 Helping Hands, the local fundraising group for Yarrawonga Health, visited Sacred Heart College for the inaugural Helping Hands Day fundraising event.
Helping Hands Committee members and Sacred Heart College Captain Mia McCully organised for staff and students to dress up in the colours blue, green and white and donate a gold coin donation in their support for this community fundraising group.
Mia is an active member of the Helping Hands Committee and along with other committee members Jo Spence, Gill Cunningham and Peter Bennett, they helped cook the BBQ that was on offer for students at lunch time.
Yarrawonga Health awarded a best dressed prize to Jyda House for his blue and green Hawaiian shirt.
The day in total made $517 which will be put towards the needs of Yarrawonga Health.
It was a great day overall with the sun out and amazing participation by staff and students at Sacred Heart College.
Helping Hands is looking forward to its next event which will be a Barefoot Bowls night – watch out for the details.
