Ms Cleeland recently visited Kilmore with Victorian Roads Shadow Minister Danny O’Brien after the state government advised the Kilmore bypass project required further planning and the land acquisition timeline was extended.
Ms Cleeland requested a briefing on the bypass’ progress from the Department of Transport in parliament, however the request was denied.
She said local landholders needed action and asked Roads and Road Safety Minister Melissa Horne to visit Kilmore.
“The minister is just an hour down the road. I’d love her to come for a walk down Sydney St, talk to business owners and locals,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Landholders along the bypass route have been in limbo for years and there seems no end in sight.”
