Fifty-seven years later, we continue to acknowledge the important work nurses do for our communities.
The theme for this year’s International Nurses Day, which will be held on Thursday, May 12, is ‘a voice to lead: invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health’.
Nexus Primary Health will show its appreciation and celebrate the compassion, professionalism and commitment its nurses provide to the community.
If you have visited one of its clinics at Broadford, Kinglake, Seymour or Wallan you may have already met some of the friendly Nexus nurses. They work in areas of practice nursing, district nursing, diabetes education, mental health and addiction nursing and can help people achieve their health goals.
The nurses also provide a wide range of services within the home and at the clinic. They can assist you or your loved one with services such as wound care, management of a chronic disease, end-of-life care, counselling/addiction withdrawals and immunisations and provide you with a better understanding of your health conditions. Nurses can also assist in blood glucose monitoring.
Nexus nurses provide care for clients under My Aged Care, DVA, TAC, NDIS, Home Care Packages, Medicare, pension/healthcare cards and post-acute care.
