Cape choir farewells exhibit

Local women formed a choir to farewell the ‘100 Capes 100 Stories’ installation from Deniliquin last week.

The display - initiated by The House That Dan Built - had been open for viewing at the Peppin Heritage Centre.

It showcased capes handmade by Australian women, paired with their inspiring stories about connection to community, resilience and reflections of their lives.

The choral music installation complementing the exhibit as it left Deni last Wednesday was developed by Danielle O’Keefe and Melanie Lietz, with the songs written by composers based on the stories told in the exhibition.

Family and friends were invited to attend, and listen to the three songs which filled the Peppin Heritage Centre gallery space and elicited goosebumps.
