The move reflects both studs’ commitment to engaging more closely with commercial producers seeking reliable, black-hided performance genetics.
Brewer Beef’s breeding program continues to attract industry attention.
In 2025, the stud recorded a significant milestone when a pen of five SimAngus steers became the first in 16 years of the Land–Teys Beef Spectacular Feedback Trial to achieve maximum points.
Additionally, a 2024 SimAngus steer from the Brewer Beef program recorded a marble score of eight — the highest ever awarded in the competition’s history.
“These results show the depth and consistency of our breeding program — performance backed not only by structure and temperament, but by their ability to grow on feed and excellent carcass data,” Tara Brewer said.
“That’s what commercial producers are asking for, and that’s what we’re proud to deliver.”
Brewer Beef will present a lineup centred on its heifer-bull specialist program, featuring Black Simmental, SimAngus and Angus bulls known for calving ease, maternal strength and temperament.
“Our local north-east clients won’t be left out, we will be holding an open day on Sunday, February 8 before the bull sale to allow them to walk through the bulls without the pressure on sale day,” Mrs Brewer said.
Brewer Beef has also announced details for the Brewer Beef Black Bull Sale, held on-property at Tallangatta Valley on February 13.
The sale will offer 40 Black Simmental, SimAngus and Angus bulls, with a large selection of heifer-safe sires.
All bulls are backed by performance data, EPDs/EBVs and the proven consistency of the program’s recent feedlot trial achievements.
“This is one of our strongest drafts,” Mrs Brewer said.
“Producers want predictability and genuine commercial performance. Our sale lineup reflects years of breeding toward exactly that.”
