Bowel cancers tests available at local pharmacies and online

With 17,000 people diagnosed in the country each year, it affects one in 20 people but can be curable if caught early.

The Rotary Bowelscan program can aid with detection. It provides a low cost and easy to use kit that is non-invasive and can be used in the privacy of your home without dietary restrictions.

While the Australian Government supplies testing kits every two years to 50 to 74-year-olds, the Rotary Bowelscan kit is available during May to all age groups for $20 per kit.

With more than 1300 Victorians passing away each year from bowel cancer it is important for everyone to be mindful and to annually take a test to prompt diagnosis and treatment.

As 30 to 49-year-olds are not exempt from the risk of bowel cancer, regular testing among this age group should also be considered.

Rotary Bowelscan kits are available at Dennis Kilmartin Pharmacy and Chemist Discount Centre in Seymour, Avenel Pharmacy and Rebecca Baker Pharmacy Nagambie.
