It will be joined by other local brigades and will be collecting donations throughout the Benalla area from 9am, with the collection continuing throughout the day.
The collections will attempt to cover all streets in Benalla. Residents are encouraged to come out and meet with the collectors when they hear a fire truck is in their street.
If residents missed being visited by Good Friday Appeal collectors and wish to make a donation, they can phone the fire station on 5762 2743.
Donations can be collected by a member of the fire brigade, and a receipt will be provided if requested.
An intersection collection will also be conducted for a period of time on Thursday, March 28, at the Nunn St/Bridge St intersection.
Donations can be made by visiting the @Benalla Fire Brigade CFA on Facebook, where you can use a QR code to make a donation.
A Benalla CFA spokesperson said a tap-and-go facility would be available at the fire station to collect donations.
“Anyone wishing to make a donation in person is most welcome to visit the fire station at any time during the day,” the spokesperson said.
“They might also like to buy some tickets in the Easter raffle.
“People wishing to assist with the Good Friday Appeal can attend the fire station and register as a volunteer Good Friday Appeal collector.
“As there are restrictions on personnel on fire trucks, the brigade will assist collectors in collecting donations.
Only brigade members and approved persons over 18 can be involved on fire trucks.
Those under the age of 16 can assist with the collections for the Good Friday Appeal, but they need to be supervised by an adult.
A raffle of Easter baskets will also be conducted at the fire station throughout Good Friday, and the raffle will be drawn in the evening.
“The brigade appreciates the support that has been provided by the Benalla community for the Good Friday Appeal and hopes for an excellent appeal total for the Benalla area again this year,” the spokesperson said.
