This will be our third year exhibiting, and it’s rewarding to see how the BarnettAngus breeding program continues to build momentum.
A standout success for BarnettAngus has been Barnett Command S7, a bull offered two years ago who has well and truly bred the house down.
Three of his sons will be on display and are essential viewing for anyone chasing sound structure, extra thickness and easy-keeping genetics — traits that underpin the BarnettAngus program.
Another highlight at the BarnettAngus display will be the first sons of Tasmania, the $136,000 sire purchased from Pathfinder. Much like his namesake, Tasmania’s progeny look good from every angle.
True to BarnettAngus objectives, they combine light birth weight with strong growth and excellent carcase merit. With a highly heritable IMF of 7.3, his sons can lift carcase quality in just one cross.
Complementing these is our home-bred sire, Barett Titus T17, who continues to drive the BarnettAngus focus on low birth weight, high growth and standout carcase performance.
Titus backs his numbers with an eye-catching phenotype, weighing over 1200 kilograms and carrying himself like a powerhouse — while remaining quiet and easy to handle.
BarnettAngus will also offer sons of Deadwood, the renowned $1 million-plus US sire whose daughters are highly sought after, reinforcing growth and carcase quality.
The bulls on display represent just a snapshot of the BarnettAngus program, built on more than 400 embryo implants, AI and carefully selected natural matings each year.
BarnettAngus is located in Westbury, Tasmania.
