The 18.5°C experienced on Tuesday of last week was the warmest day Kyabram had experienced since June 16, when the temperature reached 20.5°C.
Rain since August 16 amounted to 27.2mm, with the wettest day the 24 hours to Tuesday, August 25, when 15.2mm was recorded.
Kyabram’s total rainfall for 2026 now stands at 438mm, which is just below the yearly average of 452mm.

Copper theft sparks upgrade
A major electrical upgrade is under way at Rochester Secondary College following the discovery of a large copper cable theft and the uncovering of long-standing flood damage to the school’s power infrastructure.
Between 300 and 400 metres of copper cabling had been deliberately cut and stripped from underground conduits.
Catch some carp

The big day is being organised by the Strathallan Rochester Family Landcare Group.
Last year the community event attracted 234 registered participants and removed 64 large carp from the Campapse River, with half this catch females laden with eggs.

Echuca has collected the state’s highest tourist award, being named the Victoria Top Tourism Town in the Victoria Tourism Industry Council awards.

Better Benalla Rail, a lobby group set up to provide community input to upgrades at Benalla railway station, has questioned plans for proposed drop-off and pick-up zones.
