Just another nail in the coffin for small towns.
It seems customer loyalty doesn’t count for anything these days, and so much for the ‘Community Bank’ putting back into the community.
Not a good look near the 5th World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly!

Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary held its AGM and monthly meeting last Thursday, attended by regional representative Pam Ellerman, nurse manager Fran Langham, and nine members.
Election of office bearers saw Joy Knight re-elected as president, Lucy Sweeney vice president, Sadie Herrick secretary, replacing Judy Ryan who had been in the position for more than 20 years, Maree Thomas treasurer, and publicity officer Sadie Herrick.
Although small in number, members had a successful year supporting the local MPS with purchase of furniture items where needed and the provision of take-away meals for residents from time to time.
Nurse manager Fran gave a report outlining staffing additions and activities, and thanked members for their support in helping to make our local hospital such a special place.

Arctic and wet conditions didn’t stop the numbers rolling up for the annual Roundup in Jerilderie last weekend.
Despite rain and single digit temperatures on Friday there was plenty of activity and noise from the Jerilderie showgrounds area, with ute enthusiasts driving the local dogs mad with their imitations of gunshots and thunderstorms.
Saturday night was time for musical entertainment and more fun.
Run by the local Apex Club, with volunteers from other organisations in town to help feed the multitude, the Roundup weekend is a great fundraiser for the local community, and worth the two days of noisy inconvenience for those living close to the action.
