The ANZAC photo exhibition officially opened this Monday, with attendees hearing from Deniliquin RSL Sub-branch member John Trist and military researcher Neil Smith AM.
The two veterans shared insights into the lives of Deniliquin soldiers and the roles they played in various conflicts.
The Genealogy Society said the exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of local men and women, while also preserving important family and community stories.
The group extended thanks to the Edward River Library for its support in hosting the display, and to its members who provided morning tea for guests.
The exhibition is now open to the public during library hours.
Skin mapping clinic
Skin cancer diagnosis and treatment services will again be available in Deniliquin, with SkinMap returning to Ochre Medical Centre starting next week.
Sessions will run from April 21 to 24, giving locals multiple opportunities to book in for a skin check or treatment.
The visiting specialists will also return from May 12 to 15, and June 9 to 12.
Bookings can be made by going to https://drkevinsandhu.com.au/contact/, or by calling 0413 460 206.
The service is supported by clinicians accredited through the Skin Cancer College Australasia, offering local residents convenient access to specialised care without the need to travel.

Hearing Australia will be offering free 15‑minute adult hearing checks at the Edward River Library on Thursday, April 23, running between 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Depending on availability, walk-ins may be accepted on the day.
Nominate a local volunteer
Only three days remain to nominate a local volunteer for Edward River Council’s 2026 Community Volunteer Awards.
The awards recognise residents of all ages who give their time, energy and commitment to sporting clubs, community groups, emergency services and other local organisations.
Once nominations close, the community will have the chance to vote for the finalists, putting the decision in the hands of local residents.
Nominations close April 19, 2026. Go to www.edwardriver.nsw.gov.au/Community/Community-Volunteer-Awards-2026.
Coffee and Chat postponed
Due to the Anzac Day public holiday on Saturday, April 25, Intereach’s Deni Coffee and Chat will not be running this month.
The next catch up is scheduled for the end of May.
Hosted jointly by Intereach and Deni Social Link, the coffee mornings offer a relaxed and welcoming space for conversation and connection.
Whether you’re new to town or a long‑time local, everyone is welcome to come along for friendly discussion, a free coffee and a sweet treat.
The sessions are usually held every fourth Saturday of the month, from 10am to 11am, at Harry Pepper Coffee, 109 End St, Deniliquin.
