The corps closed its building in the centre of town to move to the site of its church, community garden and op shop, bringing all services under the one roof.
It means people in need of anything — be it emergency relief to drug and alcohol counselling, support housing to even just a shower — have just the one place to go.
Salvation Army Seymour branch captain Heather Stamp said combining the welfare side of the Salvos from Station St and the facilities of what is now called the Seymour Salvation Army Hub would help everyone.
She said it would end people turning up at one site only to be told to head down the road.
“It creates a much better pathway because the reality is that most people who walk through the door — and this isn't belittling them, but it's a reality — they don't really know what they need,” Ms Stamp said.
“Like somebody could come because they're hungry. But really through that hunger, we find out they're homeless. They would have come because they just know that they need something.”
While coronavirus restrictions from Salvation Army head office are still being finalised, Ms Stamp asked people to phone the hub on 5735 8400 before attending.
