Man dead, two arrested after public daylight shooting

He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene, police say.

A Mazda ute was spotted leaving the scene of the shooting, triggering a pursuit by police that ended swiftly when it crashed on Kildare Road less than 2km away.

Two people inside the ute tried to run but were arrested by police and taken to Blacktown Police Station, police allege.

Carinya Street, where the victim was found, is a block away from the heart of the major suburb.

Sydney has experienced more than a dozen public shootings, arson attacks and kidnappings since Christmas 2024, leading police to set up the 150 officer-strong Taskforce Falcon in May to crush the underworld warfare.
