Eight boys to stand trial over teen death

It is alleged the teen was stabbed to death in a Reservoir street.

A magistrate on Thursday determined there was enough evidence for the case to go to trial in the Supreme Court.

Each of the eight boys pleaded not guilty at a committal hearing in a Victorian children's court.

The teens are due to face the Supreme Court for a directions hearing later this month.

Earlier this week, a forensic pathologist gave evidence that a knife to the heart was the probable cause of Declan Cutler's death.

But the woman could not say which of his four chest wounds led to the fatal injury.

After viewing CCTV footage of the incident, the forensic pathologist said she also could not determine who delivered the fatal blow.
