The Russian former world No.1 strolled to a 6-2 7-6 (7-1) Brisbane International final victory against America's Brandon Nakashima on Sunday.
He netted his 22nd title - remarkably all have come at different tournaments - and second in months after ending a near three-year drought in Kazakhstan last year.
Medvedev, a three-time Australian Open finalist, has drifted outside the world's top 10 for the first time since 2018.
But his dominance in Brisbane, where he was a finalist in his only other visit in 2019, has put him back on the map ahead of the year's first grand slam in Melbourne this month.
Medvedev was serene on Pat Rafter Arena all week, in stark contrast to Melbourne Park a year ago when he was fined $76,000 for his camera and racket-smashing outbursts.
"It's better to stay calm, it's easier, but it's something I couldn't do," the 29-year-old said.
"Here, I managed to find a flow that I was following.
"Fans around the world - some like angry Medvedev, some like calm Medvedev.
"There's people who love me and people who hate me."
Medvedev hopes Open crowds are in the former camp as he attempts to clinch a second major title, but this time as No.12 in the world.
"It could be fun (as an underdog), but the first four rounds or so I'm not going to be," he said.
"But, three times in the final there, in general people in Melbourne love me.
"A big thing to say, but I hope so and I'm going to enjoy the fight."
A new coaching staff, headed by former Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson, has prompted some tweaks to Medvedev's technique and strategy that were clearly on show in Brisbane.
"There wasn't anything crazy here, but the volley, the serve ... there's room to improve," he said.
"But the small things ... my team's happy.
"I've been playing very good at the end of the season (in 2025).
"I know when I'm playing good there are not that many players that can beat me easily, or at all."
And he'd love his remarkable run of unique title wins to continue in Melbourne, before finally claiming a first repeat title at some stage somewhere in 2026.
"It's a fun story," he said. "If it continues in Melbourne, great."
