The 81-year-old singer had been due to perform in the US city of Cincinnati on August 9, but he called off the concert just hours before he was due to take to the stage with a statement confirming Stewart was suffering a health issue that "required prompt attention".
A message posted on the singer's Instagram page explained: "Due to an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention, Rod Stewart's performance tonight in Cincinnati has been postponed.
"Rescheduling is currently under way, with additional information to follow on Tuesday. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date.
"Rod is expected to make a quick recovery and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati."
Stewart is due back on stage at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday night.
It comes after the British singer faced a backlash after he was spotted attending a football game during the 2026 FIFA World Cup just a day after cancelling a concert in California due to ill health.
The Maggie May hit maker pulled out of a show in California on June 12 - just hours before it was due to start - after contracting laryngitis, but the following day, he posted a video of himself and sons Liam, 31, and Alistair, 20, flying to Boston in a private jet to watch his beloved Scotland take on Haiti.
Stewart later addressed the criticism and insisted he did not want to let his kids down after years of promising they would go to the tournament if Scotland qualified.
