New members sign on to serve the community

Janina Taylor and mother-daughter duo Megan Hill and Lisa Montgomery are the newest members of Seymour Rotary.

The three women were welcomed to the club at a recent meeting and are looking forward to getting stuck into some community projects.

Seymour Rotary outgoing president Mariam Baker said it was great to have some new faces on board who were ready to serve the community.

‘‘It’s great to be part of a community where people are willing to put their hand up to help out,’’ she said.

‘‘We’re always on the hunt for new members and we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

‘‘Older people bring plenty of skill and experience and younger people bring a fresh perspective and energy to the club.’’

Ms Hill said she was keen to give back to the community and was excited to work on some projects that mattered to locals.

‘‘Rotary is an integral part of the network in Seymour and surrounding areas and I’m thrilled to be part of it,’’ she said.
