A good win saw a great finish to the season. Georgie Bruce was best on, providing immense defensive pressure for the full 4 quarters. Ella Rhodes has been playing great netball in WA and Grace Stillard again played well in WD. Sophia Shaw stepped in to play her role in the team and rounded out the awards.
Focus, preparation and commitment is needed now heading into finals.
Well done to all A grade players ending in 4th position. Stick together and get some great prep work in over the next 2 weeks to put yourselves in the best position in finals.

What a cracking day for the last home and away game for the season. B grade were raring to go and full of optimism.
Unfortunately, the B Grade lost their GS to injury in the opening minutes of the game which meant they had to reshuffle the team but the coaches are so proud of how the girls stuck together and played for their teammate beautifully.
B Grade are sending all the love to Sophie and wishing her a speedy recovery.
Defence was strong with Kayla and Jemma reading the play beautifully and working hard to apply pressure. They were rewarded with some amazing intercepts and turnovers.
The midcourters capitalised on these turnovers and were able to convert into attack well. A notable mention to the whole team’s strong driving which opened up many opportunities for the goalies and allowed great flow down the court.
Brooke fed well into the ring and her great vision set up some perfect opportunities for Laura and Eb in the ring.
The goalers accuracy and movement in the ring is reflected in the score. A bittersweet end to the season with injuries, but the team are so proud of all of B grade and how they recover from setbacks and have grown together as a team over the year.
Bring on the finals!
Awards: ClubMulwala - Kayla Oughton, Yarra Hotel - Brooke McDougall, Wingates - Sophie Coghill and Redback Waste - Laura Nunn.

A slow start for the girls gave Katamatite the chance to secure a 9 goal lead going into the last half of the game. This is where the C Grade girls shine.
They are fighters, determined to get what they want. The last half of the game saw Haylee Wilson make strong drives within the ring and Sarah Cummins put up some amazing shots.
Taya Davey and Georgie Thomas were the voices on the court. They guided the girls beautifully reminding them not to force those passes into the ring.
The defenders as always worked tirelessly to get many intercepts and rebounds this week and gave the shooters the best chances they could to have that extra go at goal. Unfortunately it wasn’t C Grade’s day and Katty came out with the win however the season is not over yet.
The girls are ready to go into finals and show everyone what they can do. If these girls stick together and put the hard work in, there is absolutely nothing they cannot achieve.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Ally Thrumble, ClubMulwala - Rach Guppy, Miss Dolly - Georgie Thomas and Publicans Daughter - Haylee Wilson.

Katy girls were so happy to be at Rennie for the final game of the season. They decided to show their affection with lots of cuddles for the Rennie girls. Maya, the players player of the week aka the freshest 18 year old on the block, sprung from the centre circle time and time again like Shez looking for orange UDLs at the bar.
No holding back for the girls as they fought with aggression, determination and sex appeal that the vixen’s coach’s will no doubt be watching for next season.
A beautiful display of patience and teamwork from the C Res Hoppers who look forward to their first time in finals in a number of years.
Finally a special mention to Tegan for the big push. 32-19 winners! Hop hop Hoppers!
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Melinda Burke, Yarra Hotel - Maya Hargreaves, Yarra News & Gifts - Sheryl McBurnie, Free as a Bird - Eden McKinnon and Players Player - Maya Hargreaves.

What a way to end the home and away season, another win.
This week’s game showed the girls ability to focus and utilise the skills the 17s have been working so hard on, despite it being an almost uncontested game.
Mykie McBurnie was yet again a standout on the court, with her drives and confidence with the ball, earning her the title of best on court.
Zoe McKenzie proved to the team that despite her debutant ball the night before, she always shows up for her team and never drops her head.
Georgia Phillips stunned the court when she was thrown into the goal ring, and delivered some incredible shots.
Heleena Shaw was again, strong and consistent with her ability to read the play and work in a range of combinations (even her sister).
A great game to warm up for what is to come in the finals.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Mykie McBurnie, Rhodes Family - Zoe McKenzie, Ricky D’s - Georgia Phillips and Yarra Fish N Chips - Heleena Shaw.

After a tough loss into the dads v daughters game at training on Thursday, the girls were determined to have a solid win against Katty. The girls settled into the game quickly, with amazing defensive pressure across the entire court.
The girls had beautiful hands over pressure on every ball, causing plenty of defensive turnovers which were quickly converted into goals.
The shooters worked excellent together, working the ball in and around with ease, ensuring every opportunity to score was taken. The midcourt worked tirelessly moving the ball beautifully from defence to attack, creating plenty of space and fulfilling excellent drives.
A great win to end the home and away season all the girls should be proud of their efforts.
The Under 15s now start their finals pursuit against Katunga at Blighty in two weeks.

The Hoppers took on the Tigers in the last round and it was great to be back playing in front of a home crowd after playing 3 away games. Once again the girls defensive pressure was a highlight and they should all be very proud of their 2023 season so far!

What a great game the girls had for their last game. They have shown great progress and many personal achievements were accomplished during the season, with several top age girls down to the youngest being 8.
The girls treated each other with respect and great team moral on the court regardless of the age gap. It has been a pleasure to be a part of their netball milestones. Well done girls you are all amazing.
To top a great game off, the Hoppers also hosted Katty for minis day, with some fun games, prizes, lollies and morning tea which all families provided.
Thank you families for making the day so successful.
Thank you to the Rennie Club Committee, members, admin, umpires and all that do the hard yards to get the girls on the court. Goodluck to all of Rennie’s teams in the final.
On Sunday the under 11s played in the Rand football/netball carnival. With a 6am start for most families it was going to be a big day. And what a great day it was, with warm sunny weather and the girls faces of surprise when they arrived to see all the courts were marked out on the grass. Yes on the grass.
With the morning dew on the courts the first few games were slippery. The girls went from going to their one game a week, no score to playing 6 games for the day and keeping score.
An amazing job with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss which had the team just miss one on the grand final. Another big thank you to Rennie Netball Club for entering and payment for this event, as it was a great opportunity and experience for the girls.
Also a big thank you to Lucy Bassett for being the umpire for the day, Lucy is a great role model and asset to the club. Thank you all for the day.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Tayissa Dawson, Ricky D’s - Lilly Lewis, PM Junior Dev - Maddie Marett and Rhodes Family - Mackenzie Wolfe.

Last Saturday was minis day with the littlest hoppers first out on the court for what was to be a great day. They all had a big crack at any position given to them and had fun doing it.
The girls have all grown from their first game of netball at the start of the year and have gelled so well as a team. Thanks to all the girls who have filled in and helped out throughout the year. What a fun year it has been.
