Tearing through a celebratory banner, the 16-year-old recently brought up his 100-game milestone with the Seymour Lions Under-16 team.
You could say Kipping’s junior career started in a rebellious fashion, though no-one is complaining now.
‘‘I snuck out and went down to a training,’’ Kipping said.
‘‘I just like getting out of the house and enjoying what I love.’’
Fast forward five seasons and Kipping has found a home for himself in the forward line, where he plays as a key position player.
This year he has lined up for six matches and kicked 10 goals, including two bags of three.
But it was his 2017 season that produced his best return.
Splitting his time between Under-14s and Under-16s, Kipping kicked a combined 65 goals for the season.
The Seymour College student says he wants a career in the AFL to be part of his future, and was last year involved in the Murray Bushrangers squad and Shepparton Academy as he looks at ways to improve his game.
Kipping credits his strong marking and shot on goal as his biggest weapons, though his goal is to increase his running capacity to make him a more dangerous prospect.
But a knee injury sustained in a match has derailed his training of late.
And with the Seymour Lions recently forfeiting the remainder of the season, Kipping will also need to make some decisions about where he lines up in the future.
But that won’t stop Kipping from reaching his dream.
