It merged with Nagambie and Avenel MU branches when the Parish of Seymour and Parish of Nagambie with Rushworth, Murchison and Avenel centres combined to form the Parish of Central Goulburn in the early 2000s.
The combined branch has been very active and recently conducted a Quiet Day, the 15th Adopt a Gran Day at Puckapunyal School and two members attended the state conference in Drouin on April 30.
On May 16, the group held a meeting to discuss its 60th birthday celebrations, then visited the Nagambie Healthcare folk for a social afternoon of singing, jokes, readings and town and picture games.
Next on their agenda was their Morning Melodies 60th Birthday celebration on June 20.
Locals from other church denominations and local groups are invited to join the Anglican Parish of Central Goulburn’s 60th celebration of their MU branch.
Guests are invited to walk down memory lane and enjoy the Morning Melodies program with entertainer Noel Pearson.
They are asked to bring a 21st birthday photo, deb or wedding photo or one of themselves 60 years ago for show and tell.
There will be morning tea in Christ Church Hall, Seymour at 10.30am. There will also be a trading table, lucky door prizes and raffles.
This is a fundraiser for MU Overseas and Outreach program and guests are asked to bring a $10 donation.
For bookings, contact Diane Grant on 57941720 or Mary Greenshields on 57990141.
The MU invites any women or men who would like to be a member to contact Mary Greenshields or Diane Grant.
A parish river boat cruise on the Goulburn Explorer from Nagambie to Kirwan’s Bridge is also planned for October.
Local church groups, family and friends are invited to join. Cost is $27 and includes Devonshire tea.
