Beginning with a marquee clash against fellow undefeated side Benalla Breakers at the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre, the Blasters were inspired by a 31-7 onslaught in the second quarter to cruise to an 81-63 victory.
Tyler Best was the star for the Blasters, dropping 28 points, as it seemed everything the Blasters touched turned to gold after quarter-time.
Benalla’s defensive intensity was right up in the early passages, as it limited Seymour’s ability to get easy baskets and turned good ball movement into scores to take a slender two-point lead into the first change.
However, that margin was quickly erased as the Blasters flexed their muscles in a near-perfect quarter of basketball.
The Breakers were simply powerless to stop the Seymour juggernaut, as excellent shooting, slick passing and ferocious defense saw the Blasters open up a 22-point lead at half-time.
The Blasters maintained their intensity throughout the third quarter to see off any danger of a Benalla comeback, with a 19-17 period extending the lead to an unassailable 24 points.
With the game well and truly in control, Seymour took its foot off the pedal in the last, as the Breakers got themselves going in the dying stages to trim the margin down to 18 when the final buzzer sounded.
Jordan Hockley offered Best great support for the Blasters, finishing with 16 points, while Eric Miraflores starred for Benalla, dropping 29 points.
Still on a high from their dominant performance on Saturday night, the Blasters then headed east to Wangaratta on Sunday afternoon to complete the back-to-back victories with a crushing 93-40 win over the Warriors.
Jack Murphy took over the scoring reins, finishing with 25 points as Seymour completely dominated proceedings from start to finish.
Having played less than 24 hours before, the Blasters ensured they were switched on from the opening tip, getting away to a fast start to open up a sizeable 15-point advantage at the first change.
Well in control of proceedings, Seymour continued to grind Wangaratta down with its defence, only allowing 10 points in the second term while the offence continued to hum as the margin eclipsed 20 at the main break.
A rejuvenated Wangaratta side greeted the Blasters at the beginning of the third, with tighter defence seeing the Warriors only lose the stanza by four points.
The Seymour juggernaut returned for the final term looking to make a real statement in a period of basketball that replicated the second quarter surge it inflicted on Benalla the night before.
Winning the fourth quarter 32-5, the Blasters were able to extend the margin beyond 50 and give themselves a critical percentage boost.
Abraham Solano offered great support for Murphy, scoring 18 points, while Kyal Tyson was a bright spot on an otherwise dark day for Wangaratta, finishing with a team-high 11.
Seymour will be looking to continue its golden start to the season when it makes the trip north to the NSW border to face the Wodonga Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
