Cobram 32 defeated by Mulwala 45.
With a few illnesses within the team, the A grade girls knew they would need to support each other on and off the court.
It was great to see some strong attacking moves that the A Grade have been focusing on at training come into place during the game.
Again, the girls defensive pressure all over the court was something they should be proud of. With a few combination changes and trialing some new skills, the girls were happy with the win and are ready to step up the momentum and play some stronger netball next week.
Awards: Yarrawonga Pilates - Tess McNamara and Aerial Muscle Balance - Lara Langford.
B Grade
Cobram 35 defeated Mulwala 55.
The first half of netball by the girls was slow and messy and definitely wasn’t their normal style of netball. Half time the girls were up 23-19.
After a half time pump up from the coaches the girls came out firing with the attack end slowing things up, with hard drives from Chelsea and Natalie combined well with goalers Tayla and Emma-Jane.
The defenders stepped up and played a harder one-on-one defence which caused numerous turnovers. Freya worked overtime on a much taller goaler but did get hands to the ball with great backup from Charli and Alex, to bring it back down with a fantastic quarter 18-4.
The girls continued to work hard and play a slower, smarter game of netball to take out the game by 20 goals.
B grade are currently sitting 4th on the ladder.
Awards: Garage Door Services - Tayla Thomas, Mulwala Bakery - Natalie Ferguson, Miss Dolly: Alex Ridley.
