Monday, May 9: Three games of 8 ends of pairs and triples were played with 11 bowlers participating. Winners were L Brown (Skip), S Zanin and Jack Lemin with 2 wins, a draw and 17 shots up. The Runners Up were D McIntyre (Skip), G Green and Joan Lemin with 2 wins, a draw and 16 shots up.
Outdoor Bowls
Wednesday Open Triples, May 11: Thirty bowlers played two games of 12 ends of 2-bowl triples. We welcomed visitors from Mansfield and Mulwala Services. The winners were E Hodson (Skip), I Hobson & I Brond. Runners Up were T Armstrong (Skip), J Lia and M Binnie.
Friday Open Pairs, May 13: Twelve bowlers put their names down for this event, with visitors from St James and Euroa. Unfortunately the day was called off due to rain.
Social Bowls, Saturday, May 14: No Social Bowls due to the weather. A final reminder that Jackpot Triples will start May 25 and Jackpot Pairs on May 27.
Benalla Golf Club
Today, Wednesday, May 18, is a stableford event the second round of the VETS championships and on Saturday, May 21, is a stroke event round three of the Club Championships.
RESULTS: May 11
On Wednesday, May 11, 74 players competed in a stableford event the first round of the Vets championship.
The best score of the day, 46 points, was had by Graham Briggs to win C-grade from runner-up Michael Milne 45 points. Wayne Hocking 37 points won A-grade on a countback from Steve Siggers also 37 points. In B-grade Jim Tullberg with 39 points won on a countback from Jamie Waters also 39 points.

Last Saturday, May 14, 72 players competed in a stroke event, the second round of the Club Championships.
The best score of the day, 67 nett, was had by Lucas Hales to win B-grade with the B-grade runner up being Ken Muir, 74 nett.
Chris Dube, 71 nett won A-grade with Dan Squires, 73 nett the runner up on a countback. Wayne Drane, 68 nett won C-grade from runner-up John Marshall, 69 nett.

Juniors salute in pennant
On Sunday, May 15, Benalla Golf Club juniors played at Wodonga Golf Club.
The team won their final against Corowa Golf Club.
The team of five players won four matches to one to secure victory.

Lincoln Campbell lost on the last hole.
Other team members who played during the year were Jake Campbell and Stephen Batman.
Also congratulations to Rhylee Chapman on winning Pennant Player of the Year. She thoroughly deserved her win for the commitment and hard work she puts in for her team.

Women’s golf
After Thursday golf was washed out, the championship rounds began in inclement weather on Saturday, May 14.
Division 1 winner was Helen Hyland with 95/19/76 and Division 2 was won by Libby Mason with 105/31/74.

With the Benalla Squash Club’s Autumn season in its last trimester now the results are starting to grow. Players are eyeing off the ladders to see how the end may look. So here are the results for last week’s competition.

Custom Squash Team defeated HP Excavations Team 2 rubbers each, 8 games each, 114 points to 97: Liam Margat defeated Gary Manning 3/2, Tiffany Levesque lost to Ben Flynn (fill-in) 2/3, Damien Gilbert lost to Anakin Pastuszka 0/3 and Heidi Margat defeated Addison Pastuszka 3/0.
Gosh our juniors are having a great time and doing so well at the tournaments nearby. They were off to another one again last weekend, results and pics to follow.

Badminton Winter Season 12/5/2022 Round 1 results
Last Wednesday we had our first games of the Winter Season for 2022.
It was great to be back playing our normal season and having a large number of new players starting the season.
We had four teams playing with results being Astros (Team 4) 204 lost to Pirates (Team 5) 217 with just a 13 point win and in the other game Dodgers (Team 1) 229 lost to Rangers (Team 3) 270.
We had three three-game winners last week being Nicholas, Srilatha and Tharindu, well done guys and congratulations.
Last week Red Soxs had the bye
Tonight’s games are Pirates v Dodgers and in the other game Red Soxs v Astros the bye team this week is the Rangers.
If you are unable to play this week call Tim on 0417 537 135.Try to be at the courts by 7.15 to help put up the nets and have a warm up, then we can start games promptly at 7.30, this way we can all be home as early as possible on these cold night. Good luck with the games tonight.
