The Dockers’ 38-point defeat has the team from the west all but out of finals contention with four rounds remaining.
But Mundy, at 35 years old, continued his strong season form against the Giants, finishing with 20 disposals and eight tackles as his side's leading player.
With the Giants in the driver's seat for most of the match, back-to-back goals from Mundy in the first five minutes of the second quarter put the Dockers back within 14 points.
But momentum later swung back to the visitors, who kicked five of the next six goals to lock up the match by three-quarter time.
In his post-game press conference, Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said Mundy was the exception in a side lacking pressure.
“There's a clear level that we need to get to and we're not up to it,” Longmuir said.
“I thought Dave Mundy, especially in that second quarter, was at that level, but as a collective we weren't.”
● Earlier in the round, West Coast's eight-game winning streak was brought to a halt by reigning premier Richmond on Thursday night.
Despite the 27-point loss, Tom Cole had an improved output for the Eagles, picking up 21 disposals and four intercept possessions.
● Meanwhile, Josh Schache was back in action for the Western Bulldogs in a scratch match on Saturday. The key forward finished with two goals.
After the match, coach Daniel Giansiracusa praised Schache, who also played through the ruck.
“It was pleasing to see ‘Schach’ have an impact in his third game back from a few weeks off with groin issues,” Giansiracusa told westernbulldogs.com.au.
“He provided a focal point for us and when he gets his hands on the footy he’s pretty smooth with what he can do with the ball. It was good to see him get off his opponents, show some physicality and kick a couple of goals.
“He’s been able to have some ruck time as well, and even though that’s not his primary position, he was able to get his hands on the footy and follow up.”
