But patience will be the name of the game for McDonald, with the call-up potentially coming at any moment for the midcourter.

A number of Vixens have earnt debuts this year, with Kate Eddy and Tayla Honey stepping on to the court for their first times in the opening three rounds.

And a further shake-up could be on the cards after the Vixens lost their maiden game of the season on Sunday.

Falling short to Adelaide Thunderbirds by seven goals, the Vixens will be out for redemption in their next two matches - the first of which was last night, followed by another this Sunday.

McDonald, a training partner with the Vixens, has been in the club's Queensland hub since it relocated due to Victoria's statewide lockdown.
