There were some incredible highlights across all the groups; it really shows that the online scene is helping to keep everyone’s aim sharp.
At the top of the highlights we saw the Northern Darts Association’s Gavin McKenzie slot a 170 finish in a good tussle against Seymour’s Jack Stephens (8-4), but despite that impressive feat, Gavin slides down to third position on the ladder, after handing an 8-0 walkover to Zac Ivancic, who sneaks into fourth position after that percentage booster.
Seymour’s Jason Barnes now sits at the top of the group one table after displaying some incredibly consistent form over the past fortnight, dishing out hefty defeats to Jack Stephens (8-1) and the Northern Darts Association's Joe Murphy (8-0).
Shepparton Darts’ Dave Stanley is another big mover this week, jumping from fifth to second after a handy victory over Joe Murphy (8-0) and a close one against Zac Ivancic (8-6) which could have gone either way, with an impressive 33 tons, seven 140s and two 180s thrown between the pair.
In group two, Seymour youngster Seth Kilroy continues to dominate all before him, continuing his undefeated streak for yet another week, after dishing out a 6-3 defeat for Kody Lane and a ‘closer than it looks’ 6-1 win over Alexandra District Darts Association's Angelo Greco.
The younger Kilroy, Zane, moves from fourth up to second spot on the ladder after getting the better of Seymour’s Robert Parkinson (6-3) and Angelo Greco (6-4) in a couple of close ones, Seymour’s Robert Parkinson is pushed down to third position despite his 6-4 over Shepparton’s Coby Jannenga, while Coby holds firm in fourth spot after a narrow 6-4 victory over Kody Lane.
The group three ladder saw some major reshuffling with Shepparton Darts’ Matt Cox claiming top spot after continuing to go undefeated against Seymour’s Mitch McGuinness (6-1) and Tracy Gardner (6-0).
Daniel Kilroy sits comfortably in second place on the ladder for the second week in a row, after a pair of nail-biter 6-5 victories over his brother Steve Kilroy and Craig Stephens.
Craig drops from first to third place after his first loss of the season, despite a 6-0 victory over Tammy Kilroy and Shepparton’s Dale Jannenga rounds out the top four after a pair of wins over Seymour pair Mitch McGuinness (6-5) and Shelley Jensen (6-0).
Steve Kilroy sits just outside the four on percentage; he notched up a 6-3 win over Shelley Jensen.
Group three’s biggest mover was Jenna Martini after she failed to strike a blow in round one to be bottom of the ladder, she turned the thing around with a pair of wins over fellow Seymour players Mark Ruddick (6-4) and Tammy Kilroy (6-0) and sits a stone’s throw away from top four in sixth place.
Mitch McGuinness continues to tease the scorers with ‘almost’ games that end in narrow losses, sitting seventh after battling his way through the toughest part of the fixture to open the season.
Seymour’s Mark Ruddick was the only other group three player to register a win; he sits in eighth place after a 6-0 win over Tracey Gardner.
