With the home ground advantage of Chittick Park, Seymour’s batting stock stood up early to post a solid chase of 8-138 after 40 overs.
Reg Kirby’s running between wickets was a standout, the Maroons batter topping the scoreboard with 41, while Puckapunyal’s Trevor Tandy did the most damage with the ball, finishing with 4-34.
With a grand final appearance on the line, Puckapunyal started their innings strongly, reaching 50 before the fall of the first wicket, though Seymour soon kicked into gear via Steve Bruce (5-10) to limit the Wanderers’ strike rate enough to seal the victory.
Facing Seymour in the final will be Pyalong, who defeated Alexandra by two wickets on Saturday.
After skipper Jackson Ruddick (54 not out) led Pyalong to 8-113 with the bat, his side's attack quickly finished the job, dismissing Alexandra for 90 with an even spread of wicket-takers.
● In B-grade semi-final action, Avenel fell four runs short of a grand final berth, with Pyalong reaching their second grand final across the grades.
Pyalong’s Nathan Farrell-Ryan (5-15) and Jamie Pryor (4-27) helped their side dismiss Avenel for 106, before Pryor led their batting efforts with 39.
While Avenel's Jack Hesse (4-16) did his best to stop Pyalong in their tracks, the home side chased down Avenel's total with just over seven overs remaining and six wickets in hand to book their spot in the decider.
In the second of B-grade's semi finals, a brilliant knock of 85 from Broadford’s Connor Stute sealed his side’s entry into the grand final, after defeating Alexandra by four wickets.
Chasing a total of 142, Broadford chipped away at the scoreboard before passing Alexandra with an over remaining.
