It was a gratifying win for the Lakers against Shepparton United after they chased down 184 to earn a resilient seven-wicket win.
Nagambie hold nerve to bank first win of season
Lightfoot medallist Nolan's impressive 84 not out steered the ship in the run chase to earn back-to-back wins for the Cricket Shepparton outfit.
Nagambie was struggling at 2-25 in reply to United's 6-184, but thanks to Nolan and Tyrone Muir (53 not out), the home side registered all six points at Nagambie Recreation Reserve.
The gun all-rounder did not hide his delight about his side clinching its second straight win.
“It was a great win. To be able to chase those runs down was a great effort,” Nolan said.
“At the halfway mark things were looking a bit hairy. I thought United batted really well.
“But to get the win and make it back-to-back wins was a nice feeling.”
United won the toss and got off to a superb start, thanks to Keegan Armstrong (70) and Alan Tonks (32).
Rehan Bari chipped in with a handy 37 not out and the away side managed to post a sizeable total from 45 overs.
Nagambie-Tatura match abandoned after on-field crash
Nagambie's Josh Sanderson (1-25) was the pick of his side's bowlers, while Nolan and Brayden Biggs each collected one wicket.
But the honours belonged to Nolan and his batting partner Muir as they rallied together in the run chase.
Nolan - coming off making 61 in round two - said he had enjoyed spending valuable time out in the middle.
“It's been good to spend some time out in the middle,” he said.
“It's nice just to bat time and get your eye in and we were able to put the pressure back on them then.”
Nolan was full of praise for the man who helped stick with him to the end.
“I was very impressed with his (Muir's) efforts,” he said.
“Ty gave himself a few balls to get in and then put the foot down and batted really well.”
