Ahead by 23 points at half time, the Redlegs kicked into gear in the second half, kicking 15 goals to five to easily earn its place in the final.
The Redlegs were boosted by the return of Tyson Sidebottom, who hasn’t been seen since late July through injury, though the club could be without Mat Pianto this Saturday, after the star performer came off with a hamstring injury in the final quarter.
Despite the impressive win, Tallygaroopna will have its work cut out for it if they want to go back to back, meeting a hungry Lakers group desperate to atone for last year’s losing grand final against those very same Redlegs.
Nagambie will go into the match full of confidence, as prior to this season Tallygaroopna had not been beaten since the 2017 final series.
But it was a disciplined Nagambie squad who pulled the trigger in round 17 this season, comfortably winning out by 54 points.
Arguably, the Redlegs had some key outs, but the Lakers showed everyone this was no fluke, again beating the Redlegs in their semi-final clash, this time by a whopping 99 points.
And Anthony Haysom’s men will be looking to make it a three-peat for the season this weekend, with Haysom admitting after the semi finals that the hunger for ultimate success was as fierce as ever among the club.
The Kyabram District League senior grand final will kick off at 2.05pm at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
