There was an air of excitement and uncertainty at Deni North School on Friday evening as it prepared for its now annual Colour Run fundraiser.

After checking the weather apps to see what the rain would do, the event organisers decided that the show must go on.
All involved were glad they did.
Many families attended to show their support as the participants enjoyed the free sausage sizzle and had some drinks and lollies to build their stamina.
Then, at 5.30pm off they went - students, staff, parents and other family members and friends.
The starting line was the water obstacle, which got all participants damp enough for the colour powder to stick and swirl over their white clothing.
There were obstacles set up all the way around the oval with ‘powder pourers’ (a combination of parents and staff) at each obstacle.
All obstacles had a different coloured powder, making for a very colourful mix.
There were hurdles, tyres, hay bales, string, high jump mats, camo nets, red-rover cross-over balls and a slip and slide.
The school’s P&C arranged the event on the success of the inaugural colour run last year.
This year, the timing was planned as a celebration for a great first term and to welcome the new kindergarten students and their families.
“The school and organisers would like to thank the staff and parents who volunteered,” the school said.
“Also, thanks to Baker’s Delight for donating the bread and Pattison Pastoral Butchery for the discount on sausages.
“Moreover, thanks to Deni Sand and Soil, Motiv8, Browns Rural Supplies and the Andrews family who all donated equipment for the obstacles.
“All the kids loved the event and had a ball while creating many colourful memories.”
