Three men arrested over Bendigo and Campaspe fires

THREE men have been arrested in relation to about 40 bush and grass fires which had been lit across the Bendigo and Campaspe region in recent months.

A 31-year-old Quarry Hill man has been charged with 38 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire.

A 37-year-old Quarry Hill man has been charged with 38 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire.

A 35-year-old Huntly man has been charged with 36 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire.

The fires are alleged to have been lit between November last year and March 27 this year.

Police arrested the men after two fires were reported in Bolinda and Tooborac on Friday.

The trio have been remanded to appear in Bendigo Magistrates Court today, March 30.
