Rehabilitation works will be carried out on the Hume Fwy southbound lanes at Tallarook during October, with motorists advised to expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
The works will cover a 600-metre section between the railway overpass bridge and the Tallarook southbound on-ramp, focusing on asphalt pavement restoration to improve safety and driving conditions.
Construction will primarily take place on weekdays between 7am and 6pm over about four weeks, weather permitting.
Additional weekend and night works may also be scheduled.
During the roadworks, traffic management crews will implement lane closures and reduce speed limits to 40km/h through the affected area.
Transport Victoria advises all road users to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time, with delays of five to 10 minutes expected.
The scheduled dates and times may change due to adverse weather conditions.
